Metal Detectors

CEIA Walk Through Metal Detectors and Hand Held Metal Detectors satisfy the strictest requirements and detection needs of security checkpoints. The technology employed allows high discrimination to be achieved even at stringent security levels. CEIA magnetometers, and OPENGATE weapon detection systems are found in high-profile locations across the country including nearly 80% of sports stadiums and are the preferred metal detectors of the TSA and Federal Bureau of Prisons. Recent mandates for many large venues now require walk through metal detection or advanced screening checkpoints. CEIA WTMDs are internationally recognized and provide intelligent and cost-effective people screening solutions for all settings. Recent additions to the CEIA product line include the MSD (magneto static detector) and OPENGATE, both which provide highly portable security screening solutions for a variety of facilities. Multi-Zone targeting indication identifies location of contraband on the body for added convenience and efficiency.

How do metal detectors work?

The metal detector is the most-used form of event security. Also known as a magnetometer, these systems use an electromagnetic field to detect metal objects, such as concealed handguns. They create a magnetic field by using a brief pulse of electrical current which is then reflected back to the machine if there are any metal objects present, such as a weapon or gun. The return signal is detected by the machine and a beeping noise is produced to alert the event screening agent.
